Study Hard.

I've been doing studies on materials at random all week. This is one that was successful as a study, though the end product was an unwearable fail. They turned out bad bad patent orange. But experiment's the point I guess.

First, I used neon yellow acrylic enamel on old shoes from Forever 21 I don't care about...That did NOT work. So I spray painted them. That looks like shit [sorry], but it was a good idea in my head.  I was trying to repurpose a pair of old shoes to have a bright color block. [note to self: polyurethane = bad material]

I used the official Krylon OSHA orange. Another shout-out to Architecture. I taped off the parts I didn't want painted, and sprayed away in an well-ventilated area [called outside]...
I'll Definitely try this again with better material and better paint!

Bracelets

Both of these bracelets can be found on I Spy DIY...

I love looking at her blog when I feel like making something and don't have time or energy to invent.

Mine is a little twisted, I think from pulling the waxed cord to tight, but I like it.
[worn with Madewell cuff]

This was for my friend Amanda's Birthday. Happpppy 25th! [oops there are only 18 hexagons though....poor planning on my part...] Also, since the original recipe called for tying off the twine on your wrist, I added a clasp [not shown] so the twine wouldn't be a pain and fall apart from knotting and un-knotting.

Ombre Sweater

This is something I did back in October for Halloween...I was supposed to be the planet Venus...but after prematurely buying all the blue and turquoise dye I could [before looking at actual images of Venus...], I found out Venus is actually egg white and orangey-redish [wtf? who knew that]  So then I was Neptune.

Dip Dyed in the kitchen with RIT blue and turquoise. [next time i'll use better quality dye, but for this I didn't wanna spend $$$].

Shout out to Value World for best sweater selection ever!!

DIY Bowtie!

DIY Bow-Tiy? [get it? ]

Today's impromptu "Remember all that mesh you never used in architecture school?" activity: silver mesh Bowtie with neon neck strap / clasp! Made it myself!

Also, I invested in some major metal snipper-age, so there is much more metalwork to come!!

Pic O' Tools!! Featuring above mentioned industrial metal snips!!

I want to make this!

I have an affinity for furniture designs that act as cocoons ... And have been looking for a reasonable furniture build project.
I'd consider a long-term goal project [aka I hope I can get in on my roomies mechanical resources]

I am so inspired by this project from:
